Khamaiko have recently put forth the conjecture that the idol was actually made in the nineteenth century by Tymon Zaborowski, a Polish early-nineteenth-century poet from Liczkowce/Lichkivtsi. Hence, doubts have been raised around the monument’s chronology, ethnic identification of its makers, and even its authenticity. The statue has moreover no close analogy that would feature multi-headedness and zoned layout of representations.
